Darcy Greenwald, L.Ac, MSOM has nearly two decades’ experience as a licensed acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner.

Darcy spent the first half of her life in South Korea, China and Hong Kong, where she derived her eventual passion for Asian medicine. After returning to the United States in the late ‘90s, Darcy initially followed her interest in Chinese herbal medicine; she became certified in Traditional Chinese Herbal Sciences through the Rocky Mountain Herbal Institute (RMHI) in Montana, a two-year program from which she graduated in 2001. She then went on to graduate from the Colorado Chinese Medicine University (formerly Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine) in Denver, CO in 2006 with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. She is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is currently a licensed acupuncturist in the states of Idaho and Washington.

Darcy has studied with several nationally-recognized acupuncturists to effectively treat and manage all types of pain disorders. Recognizing the complexity of modern-day health due to environmental pollutants and allopathic interventions, beginning in 2018 Darcy began training in functional medicine, learning to use blood, urine, hair, and stool clinical lab analysis to pinpoint and treat more complex disease with targeted nutrition, herbs and dietary supplements. She has found that the majority of human illness and disease includes elevated systemic inflammation, which stems from deteriorating gut health. Thus, she additionally specializes in digestive, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders.

Over the course of her career, Darcy has worked in a number of different clinical settings in Nebraska, Colorado and Idaho, including co-ownership and management of one of the largest community acupuncture clinics in Colorado.   More recently she has been in private practice, combining acupuncture with her functional medicine and nutrition skills. Darcy loves working with people of all ages, and is a passionate educator; she has written and published numerous health articles, and has taught classes on a variety of health topics.

Wanting to move away from congested city life, Darcy and her family moved to beautiful northern Idaho in 2021, where they have settled into a simpler life. In her free time, Darcy enjoys cooking healthy meals from scratch, reading philosophical books, meditating, and spending as much time outdoors hiking in nature as she can. She lives with her husband, dog and cat in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
